Optimization of bottle costs (Light Weighting)
All research aspects with regard to draft design, model construction and selection of material and preform are aimed to provide optimized bottle costs.
Experienced materials processing engineers use the data provided to calculate the lowest possible use of material and blowing air pressure, taking into account the bottle and preform geometry, stretchability, standard or relax process. Parameters in process design are derived from these calculations.
The primary aim is to produce your bottle on an industrial scale as cost-effectively as possible (considering total cost of ownership) and to ensure the required stability in complicance with the specifications.
Light Weighting has become the popular term to describe this procedure. Light Weighting means being aware of, and making full use of, the orientation of the PET to the limit. In this respect, process optimization with the best possible, precise repeatability is just as important as PET know-how.
Cam-controlled, mechanical stretching in InnoPET Blomax Series III machines enables Light Weighting on the limit.
